Sustainable Brand Highlight: Evergreen Wildwear

A lot of people have asked me about ethical and sustainable clothing options for kids, toddlers, and babies, so went on a search to find you the best brands! Designed to last across multiple age ranges, Evergreen Wildwear is our favorite brand we've discovered this far!

Evergreen Wildwear was created by three sisters that realized parents needed a better way to shop for their kids. Not only did they grow out of clothes so quickly (and required significant consumption with each age range, they decided to design kids' clothing that would last for multiple age ranges.

The smallest size is Seed, which lasts from about 6 months to 18 months! Can you imagine all the clothes you bought for your kids just to phase out during this time period? I bought different clothes every three months! This brand allows them to wear the same clothes for over a year!

The medium size is Sprout (Zaki's size), which lasts from 1.5 years to 3 years. When Adam was this age, I bought clothes every 9-12 months!

The largest size is Spring (Adam's size), which lasts from 3 to 5 years. Again, I usually buy clothes every 9-12 months, depending on the brand. Sometimes they grow taller (or rounder). Other times, they would wear through within 3-5 months, depending on the brand and how often the kids wore them.

They have also recently added two additional sizes that last from 6-10 years old.

And the way these sizes fit is amazing! They don't look "baggy" or too big at all. At the smaller end of the scale they look "relaxed." At the larger end of the scale, they don't look too tight. The way these clothes are sized is actually brilliant.

All of the current lines are organic cotton. They are in the process of using 100% organic cotton soon. Most of their items are made to order, which significantly reduces the amount of inventory that ends up in landfills when it doesn't sell. And while you may not get the immediate gratification of impulse purchases (like at Target or Gap), this sort of marketing platform helps you buy only what you need and not excessive. That is at the heart of the ethical fashion movement.

The dresses are designed to fit like knee length dresses on the smaller end and a long tunic on the larger end. The snap rompers have elastic interiors that can be tightened when the child is younger and can be released as they grow older. It also has cuffs which help obtain the perfect fit.

While you can order limited products online through their website, most of their product drops happen through Facebook (like most of the best brands do). If you join their Facebook group, you can browse all of their albums to see what lines they are running and order from there!

And the quality? Absolutely phenomenal. The cotton hoodies are the heavier (but still breathable) cotton and so soft. I want shirts and pants for myself in an adult size! The stitching is thick and will hold up well. As you can see in the pictures, my boys were running and wrestling for about an hour and there wasn't even a stain or any sign of wear anywhere on them. We will definitely be buying more Evergreen clothes!

I really wish I had discovered this brand when my kids were babies. Not only would I have saved so much money, but I cannot even imagine the reduced waste consumption! I have half a room filled with boxes of old baby and toddler clothes that I will eventually donate. I bet it would have been 1/3 of that if I had purchased all Evergreen Wildwear clothes that they could have worn much longer.

This brand should definitely be number 1 on your list for ethical and sustainable kids' clothes!
